On Friday morning, a tornado was confirmed as it moved through Rhode Island and Massachusetts. No immediate injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service, based in Boston, reported that several Rhode Island towns, including Scituate, Johnston and others, had been devastated by powerful tornadoes Friday morning. According to the National Weather Service, the tornado appeared to have wind speeds up to 115 mph and was capable of lifting a vehicle before dropping it onto the road.
