Cleveland Fire Brigade dispatched two engines to a restaurant located just off Marina Way on The Lanyard
After a fire started in the deep-fat fryer, a KFC was evacuated in Hartlepool.
After reports of an alleged fire, firefighters were dispatched to the site near Marina Way and The Lanyard. Hartlepool sent two fire engines to the site. The Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed that the fryer was completely destroyed, and the rest of the restaurant building had 60% smoke damage.
Fire crews used two respirators, a hose reel and two dry-powder fire extinguishers in order to put out the fire. The incident is unknown.
Cleveland Fire Brigade spokeswoman: “We’re currently on scene (10.12am, October 25, 2023) at an incident in KFC The Lanyard at Hartlepool Marina. Kitchen fire. Hartlepool fire engine two. Two breathing apparatus have been used and one hose. “Everyone evacuated the building.”
