A man who was working on the roof of a building fell 15 to 20 feet in the early morning hours of 24 July.
According to Teton County Sheriff’s Office sergeant Jesse Willcox the man had injuries on his waist and arm. Willcox didn’t identify the origin of the man, but stated that he was in 60s.
A 42-year old Colorado man, who was working for Colorado Springs, fell 60 feet while constructing the Cody House at Teton Village on April 27,2022. Falls from heights is the leading cause of workplace-related deaths in America, according to inspectors.
Wyoming is still the leader in the country for workplace deaths, with 10.4 fatalities per 100,000 employees. Wyoming has ranked number one in workplace deaths for the second year running. North Dakota and Montana ranked respectively second and third.
Wyoming had 13 deaths per 100,000 workers by 2020. Wyoming was ranked second in 2019, behind Alaska, with 12 fatalities. However, it topped the list in 2018, with 11.5 deaths.
According to an annual report by the American Federation of Labor & Congress of Industrial Organizations, workplace deaths are more common among older workers.
