In La Matanza, two men drove through three security points and assaulted two people with vehicles that were marked as kidnapping requests.
The squads 7 “Cabo Misael Pereyra” & 57 “Santo Tome”, Fixed Patrol “Tapebicua” & “Virasoro” Sections of the Argentine National Gendarmerie(GNA) seized two vehicles in the afternoon on Thursday, 11th November that tried to elude and attack them. They had an active request of kidnapping for being robbed at La Matanza.
The incident began when two vehicles, a gray Peugeot 208 and a white Volkswagen Amarok, crossed the roadblock on National Route 14 near the city of Tapebicua in the province of Corrientes. The situation prompted the control at km 669 to intensify while waiting for the two vehicles.
The truck pointed to the officers in uniform, moved onto the shoulder, and then continued on his way towards the city of Santo Tome. It ignored stop signs displayed by the force mobile at the intersection of Provincial Route 121, and made off.
A second patrol car then tried to stop the pickup at the intersection of Provincial Route 40. The pick-up had to make dangerous maneuvers to avoid them. The driver was unable to control the vehicle due to slippery road conditions. He ran off the road. He was however arrested just a few moments later.
The car, on its side, attacked the soldiers in the exact same manner, followed the path almost exactly and abandoned the vehicle near a plantation of pines, which was a field it entered, to vanish from view. Both the vehicles that were stolen on the Matanzas territory, and the man arrested, are at the Court’s disposal, along with the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Paso de los Libres.
